Hardware City

I've recently grown fond of Hardware City, a local hardware store that has saved my life a few times! Even though it's a small store, I've never been disappointed with the merchandise selection (they carry everything from pots and pans to paint and even home decor items!). Because it IS a small, hometown store, I've always met friendly employees and received excellent service.

I've gone in there so much recently, the last time I went in, one of the employees smiled, looked at me, and said, "You again?" Then he laughed at me when I told him why I was back (to get a copy of my roommate's key made after I lost my key in the woods and got locked out). I've also gone there to buy screws to fix a chair I found on the side of the road (that I now use as my desk chair), to buy the spray paint for my campaign furniture DIY, to buy graffiti remover when I accidentally got spray paint on the sidewalk (oops!), to buy a stake for my "tomato plant," and to buy tools and pegs to put together some Ikea furniture.

The garden section.

Kind employee making a copy of my keys.

Anything your home could ever need.

If you're ever in the neighborhood and need to buy something for your home, check out Hardware City on Connecticut Ave. in Kensington. (Quick tip: it's totally within walking distance of Kensington Antique Row, if you're in the area.)

  2. Taking a look at a very awesome table for the dining area currently, just noticed an almost identical table
at ikea recently. I'm a nightmare with unassembled furniture however
